All sound sources were recorded April-June 2020 in Taipei, Taiwan:
...construction workers clocking-out and slamming doors, dream accounts, old men laughing, bus stop ambience, cash machine, construction site drilling, old women recycling aluminum, elevator doors, hallway high-heeled walking, convenient store, Cosmed advertisement, packing groceries, Fuhe flea market, birds at the Taipei Botanical Garden, old people singing karaoke near the Keelung river, neighbourhood temple picnic, watermelon truck, door bell, fried rice cooking, frogs at Daan Forest Park, guzheng performer, ambulance siren, a parakeet on a scooter, children on the playground, truck announcement, dog barking, rain on umbrella, temple parade music, radio...and more.
The various recorded sounds were documented via Sony TCM-20DV cassette recorder on a 1982 Memorex MRXI C60 tape. These sounds have been mixed, layered, and condensed into a sound meditation centered on two tape loops: a backward loop of neighbourhood temple chants, and a loop of a Taiwanese retro radio pop song.
