This is the second "sound diary" I have made, which took place during the first month of moving to Taipei: music boxes, sideband radio frequencies, Taipei Metro, grocery store ambiance, construction, birds, foot steps, automatic announcements/advertisements, coins, receipt printers, turnstiles, auto welcome, old men playing Xiangqi, unknown cutting machinery for plastics and metal, neighbours, passing scooters, public event loudspeakers, 7/11, merchandise scanners, trash trucks, dream accounts, rain, bottles/recycling, Shilling Night Market, chopsticks...and more?
The 60-minutes of various recorded sounds were documented via Sony TCM-20DV cassette recorder. These sounds have been mixed, layered, and condensed into a sound meditation centered on a backward tape loop of the metro arrival-song of the Taipei Main Station.
